Rich timberlands initially attracted early settlers to the community of Covert. Today the same gorgeous natural setting draws residents and visitors alike.

There are 62 campground sites across 50 acres in the community. Campers who seek the comforts of home will find campgrounds with water and electricity, and others looking for an immersive experience will find peacefully primitive sites. Covert Park features a quarter mile of beach on the shores of Lake Michigan, as well as picnic areas and grills. Lake Michigan provides an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities including paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming.

The unincorporated community is located just 10 minutes from South Haven and within easy driving distance of St. Joseph, Saugatuck, and Holland. Nearby Van Buren State Park is also a recreational haven that is situated on the shores of Lake Michigan. Locals can lounge on the beach, venture through woodland trails, or enjoy a nice picnic.
