During the 1920s, Ogden Dunes was the home of a large ski jump that was used for training Olympic ski jumpers. The hilly landscape continues to be used for training local athletes today.

Surrounded by the Indiana Dunes National Park, the community is just minutes from activities ranging from swimming, boating, and fishing to hiking and birdwatching. The town is also home to a number of parks with soccer fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, tennis courts, and a trail that connects to the Indiana Dunes.

I-94 and I-90 make it easy to get to neighboring communities and states, while the South Shore Line provides train service to downtown Chicago.
