Tree-lined streets, abundant green space, storefronts, restaurants, and a vibrant university campus are how most would describe Little Italy. There’s much more to it, however, as this Near West Side pocket is also located in close proximity to other bustling areas such as the West Loop and Pilsen neighborhoods, and just a short commute away to the Loop business district.

Home to the University of Illinois at Chicago, the neighborhood is bolstered by an enrollment of over 30,000 students. And to help get around, there are bus routes along several major thoroughfares and two CTA Blue Line stations.

Scenic streets prominently feature classic types of Chicago housing stock (think multi-family flats) nestled in among the many rows of townhouses and generously sized neighborhood parks. And while you’re there, you may as well stop somewhere for a healthy serving of spaghetti followed by an Italian ice — it is Little Italy, after all.
