Consistently chosen because of its wonderfully-maintained fields, the community has hosted the annual No Gloves National Invitational Softball Tournament for many years, featuring the best 16-inch slow-pitch softball teams in the Midwest.

Forest Park has a healthy mix of industrial and commercial businesses, including a major shopping mall and a bustling commercial center. Historic Madison Street is at the heart of the shopping and dining district, featuring local boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants.

Commuters have access to several transportation options such as the Metra, CTA Green and Blue Lines, and Eisenhower Expressway.
