North Bethesda

North Bethesda, located just outside of the nation's capital, is a destination of its own. The White Flint district, at the heart of North Bethesda, offers a plethora of residential and commercial opportunities for visitors and residents alike. The White Flint and Grosvenor-Strathmore metro stations make North Bethesda easily accessible, while being home to four National Institutes of Health and other federal agencies such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Health Resources and Services Administration, and United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. This area also boasts the headquarters of numerous corporations and non-profits, including the American Kidney Fund, Society of American Foresters, and United States Pharmacopeia. North Bethesda is also home to Georgetown Preparatory School, the Neo-Georgian Mansion at Strathmore, and the Music Center at Strathmore.

North Bethesda shares a rich history with its Montgomery County neighbors, dating back to the Paleo, Archaic, and Woodland Native American populations. The Seneca Trail, an ancient road that runs through the region, was a significant travel route for these early peoples. The area's recorded history dates back to the colonial era, with settlements forming along Rock Creek and the Seneca Trail. The southern edge of the North Bethesda CDP was once the Grosvenor family estate, which is still home to their lineage, including Alexander Graham Bell and a former President of the National Geographic Society. Additionally, the business district in the southern sector of the census designated area includes several corporate and government agency headquarters. North Bethesda has an abundance of rich history, mixed with the modern amenities that make it a top destination for tourists and residents alike.
