The City of Plano has a superhero past.
Smallville Superfest commemorates the summer of 2011, when Man of Steel was filmed in downtown Plano. The festival brings thousands of people to participate in Superman-themed activities, watch live bands, and see the cool cars of Cruise Nights. Smallville Museum also honors Plano’s status as one of the movie’s primary filming locations as Superman’s hometown.
Nearby Silver Springs State Park is a popular place for Plano residents to hike, picnic, or fish. Named after a pool of clear bubbling water that never freezes, Silver Springs State Park features a landscape of beautiful oak trees and grasslands.
