Seth moved to Chicago in 1987 immediately after graduating from Northern Illinois University. He has been a licensed agent in Chicago since 1998. Previous to joining @properties, for 14 years he was the President and Managing Broker of Get Realty, Inc., an independent real estate brokerage located in Wicker Park. At Get Realty, Inc., he worked on a mix of residential, commercial and industrial real estate transactions. By gaining his clients' trust with honesty, accessibility and a strong work ethic, he has earned a consistent referral base. He brings to @properties a strong knowledge of the Chicagoland real estate landscape with a thorough knowledge of many neighborhoods.
Previous to real estate, Seth worked in the film industry for 14 years. From 1990-2000, he worked as an assistant to the Director, Writer, Producer John Hughes. During this time, he worked on over 10 feature films. In addition to specific film related responsibilities, he was in charge of helping Hollywood producers and crew acclimate to the Chicago film market. This included location scouting, managing the 100,000 sq ft sound stage where many of John Hughes' movies were filmed as well as finding temporary housing for visiting cast members such as John Candy, Walter Matthau and countless other cast and crew. Seth brings the experience and resourcefulness that he honed during his film business days into his career in real estate.
In addition to working with hundreds of clients, Seth has successfully invested in his own condo conversion and single family home developments. His personal experience and insight into the building, rehabbing and development process is often times helpful to his clients when analyzing the costs associated with home purchase/sale transactions. He truly enjoys educating buyers that are new to Chicago or just new to home ownership in general. Over the years, he has garnered a team of resources: trusted lenders, attorneys and tradespeople, which complements the home buying/selling process and assists in making the experience go smoothly for his clients.
Seth also has assisted clients in acquiring income producing multi-unit buildings. He stays current on the rental market and can help identify investment properties that make financial sense. Some of his clients have gone on to invest in numerous income producing properties which have proven to be profitable for both cash flow and resale.
