Ty was born and raised in Northern Michigan, allowing a solid love for the outdoors to develop and a deep appreciation for mother nature's changing seasons. He strongly advocates taking full advantage of the year-round activities provided as a NoMi local, ensuring his days are packed full of sailing, mountain biking, golfing, hiking with the dogs, surfing the Great Lakes, and skiing. Learning to ski at age 2, his home resort being Boyne Mountain, Ty developed a passion for Freestyle Skiing. From ages 15 to 21, he journeyed throughout North America, competing in freestyle skiing events such as The Dew Tour and various National Championships. His prowess led to his selection as one of four junior athletes to represent the United States in the World Championship Freestyle Skiing event held in Lake Wanaka, New Zealand, in 2010.
Spending eight winters in Breckenridge, Colorado, Ty contributed his expertise by coaching young, aspiring Olympic Skiers while simultaneously cultivating his professional ambitions as a film skier. At age 25, Ty's innate connection to Michigan drew him back to the lakes, prompting his first investment home in Boyne City and igniting his interest in real estate.
Presently serving as the Northern Michigan Operations Coordinator at @properties Christie's International Real Estate - Petoskey, Ty is also a licensed Realtor while concurrently operating as the proprietor and property manager of Cedar Grove North LLC, a vacation rental company committed to delivering a thoughtful lodging experience. With a wealth of 15 years in brand marketing and customer service, Ty has honed his skills to become a solution-oriented, detail-focused, attentive, and dependable salesperson.
Reflecting on his formative experiences, Ty notes, "Through my early travels and competitions, I developed essential qualities key to sales and customer service such as patience, communication skills, perseverance, and adaptability. These experiences also emphasized the exceptional beauty of Northern Michigan and the unwavering support of the small communities held within it."
