Meredith Banta joined @properties in 2006, and soon after teamed up with Anne Connolly Rief. During that time, Meredith participated in over $100 million in sales, with both buyers and sellers alike. She leverages her creative eye and a background in home design and sales to offer clients a full range of services: from full staging consultation, and facilitation if needed, to her comprehensive understanding of the many neighborhoods and markets throughout Chicago. Meredith's credentials include certifications in Staging Homes for Sale (ASP), Negotiations (CNE), and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) allowing her to assist a wide range of discerning clientele.
Meredith is a passionate real estate professional, who finds satisfaction from helping her clients navigate the sometimes overwhelming buying or selling process. She has a particular passion for first time buyers, and also seniors making a change, as both of these clients are making big life decisions that can be both scary and overwhelming. Meredith brings both concern and caring, as well as all the knowledge and experience necessary to make the transition feel less stressful, and more exciting, as it should.
Prior to joining @properties, Meredith was a theatrical producer, founding both not-for-profit and commercial production companies in Chicago. She had great success, including having her first company listed in Richard Christiansen's coveted annual year end list of Top 100 theatre artists and companies to watch, in the Chicago Tribune.
Switching industries but retaining her love of design, she spent 8 years in the retail fabric and custom furniture businesses, and enjoyed helping clients create their personalized dream home. This sparked her love of preparing homes for sale. Today more than ever, sellers need to prepare their home for market in the best way possible, to ensure that buyers see the home of their dreams. Homes that are appropriately staged are proven to sell faster, and at a higher price!
Meredith grew up in Deerfield, went to college in Lake Forest, and has been a Chicago resident for 32 years; living in Lakeview, the Gold Coast, Edgewater and Rogers Park. She currently lives in Wrigleyville. She is an avid theater and restaurant goer, and loves Chicago's spectacular lakefront for walking and biking.
